I will start this by saying we did not have our dog seen here, they did not assess her, this was all based off one phone interaction. Yesterday our black lab started having seizure like activity. We called our vet clinic and they referred us here and called ahead for us. We were in the car on the way there when a staff member called us to get more information, this was not the issue we had. We were obviously freaked out and flustered and concerned. We gave the information, one of the questions being was she actively seizing in that moment. She was not, they had happened in bursts. The woman we talked to told us it would be a waste of time for us to bring her in and that if she wasn’t actively having a seizure it was probably a one off and probably wouldn’t happen again. She told us we should go to a closer emergency vet. Our local emergency vet would have been more than happy to help, but they wanted to get us somewhere where they had CT/MRI and a neurologist vet at their facility since she was having seizures. The “one off” turned into 6 more focal seizures on our way to the next emergency vet. The distance to get our girl help wasn’t the issue, and to us it would not have been a waste of time. We found an emergency vet who could and did help. just how rude and dismissive this phone conversation was while we were dealing with our dog seizing did not in anyway help the situation and honestly made me want to go anywhere but there ever.

Doctor Briana Im was very helpful and patient with me. She really took the time to explore options with me and answer all of my questions. She and the staff had my cat feeling way better by the time I came to pick her up. The receptionists were also very efficient and provided good service in particular, Abby C, who was the primary person assisting me. Kristen the technician was also very helpful. They were all very quick in getting my cat help in an emergency.

It would be impossible to convey how grateful I am to the wonderful doctors, techs, and others at VCA Emergency. My kitty has a chronic heart condition and has been a "frequent flyer" here for the past several months. They have given him amazing treatment and brought him back from the brink more than once. And they are kind and caring. He wouldn't be here if not for VCA Emergency. Thank you. All of you. From both of us.
